ABOUT US
We are a back-to-basics family-run campsite nestled in the Clwydian Range and Dee Valley AONB. Catering for couples and families, we pride ourselves on doing everything we can to ensure you have the best stay possible! We have pet friendly pitches, a field for camper vans and a hard standing for motorbikes.
Location
We are conveniently located just just off the A5104 in North Wales. We’re a 15 minute drive from Llangollen (just on the other side of the horseshoe pass) which is perfect for kayaking, shopping or enjoying culture at one of the many annual festivals. Alternatively, driving 25 minutes in the other direction will bring you to Bala Lake. Just down the road you’ll find Carrog, with a river perfect for wild swims during the summer heat, and Corwen, which holds the start of the steam railway which runs through the valley to Llangollen. Starting from the campsite are a pleathora of lanes and tracks leading to some stunning hikes, allowing you to explore the area on foot.
Facilities
Just because you’re camping, doesn’t mean you have to forgo modern luxuries! We have hot showers, clean toilets and hot water for washing your dishes. Our onsite bar, The Wobbly Dog, opens from 1pm with beer and cider on tap to refresh you after a hard days hiking (or relaxing). We also stock most basic ammenities and snacks, meaning you don’t have to run to the shops when you realise you’ve forgotten something. Firepits are available to rent with wood also available for purchase throughout your stay.
Things To Do
On-site we have sheep, pigs, and chickens which all need to be fed! Speak to one of us and we’ll be able to let you know when this happens and how kids (and big kids!) can get involved! We collect fresh eggs daily which are available to purchase at the bar too. Bryneglwys itself has a great play park just a few minutes walk away, as well as a village shop. On Saturdays, we light a bonfire and provide jumbo marshmallows for toasting. We also suffer from minimal light-pollution, giving us prime skies for stargazing and astrophotography.
